Our girls will head home shortly, as the Fall Semester concludes here at Miami. We've had a productive fall, and I can't wait to see how the girls "transition" into the 2nd semester.

On The Right Track...

We began our season last weekend, and it appears that we are headed in the right direction.

There were several highlights, led by freshman Ashley Zaper's win in the High Jump. "Zape" had a high school-best of 5' 5"...but cleared 5' 8" in her first collegiate meet- with good attempts at the NCAA Provisional-Qualifying height of 5' 10"! What a start!


Other highlights included:
-Placing three ladies in the 60m Dash Finals...Margarita Pogorelov finished 2nd in 7.65 seconds, Diona Graves finished 5th in 7.76 seconds, and Zaper finished 7th in 7.84 seconds.

-Capturing the 4x400m Relay in a time of 3:54.

-Magda Wikar placing 2nd in the LJ at 18'- with three of her jumps surpassing her best jump at the same meet a year ago.

-Layne Baggett placing 3rd in the 60m Hurdles with a time of 9.09...that's a .4 second PR in her first collegiate meet!

-Brittney Bernardoni placing 3rd in the Pole Vault, with a clearance of 12'...a very good start to a promising year.
